10 Years of Passion, Adrenaline, Heart, Mad Skills and ‘Killer’ Roller Hockey!
2Hot4Ice gets ready to launch it’s 10th year of delivering first-class Hockey tournaments. This year will be an absolute celebration of why this is the best sport on earth and a way to say thank you to the best people in hockey…the players, coaches and parents of those who play 2Hot4Ice!
We want to start out by announcing that our 2010 National Games will be held for the first time in Atlanta, GA. When 2Hot4Ice storms into Atlanta from June 24th to June 27th, it will mark the coming together of the most die-hard Hockey teams getting together one last time to determine a National Champion. As I write this here in October, I am already excited and can’t wait for Nationals to start! Planning for Nationals has already started and trust me when I say it will blow you away.
The site for this year’s national championships will be the South Gwinnett Athletic Association’s Dual Decks complex (SGAA) in Snellville, a community about 20 miles from downtown Atlanta. The recently renovated facility is surrounded by a variety of motels, restaurants, movie theaters and other recreational venues, including the ever-popular Stone Mountain Park. A short drive across the metro area brings the giant Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park into play.
The 2Hot4Ice-SGAA relationship is as old as 2Hot4Ice itself. “I’ve been coaching 2Hot4Ice tournaments since 2000,” says Ronnie Williams, operations director for the SGAA and the coach of 21U and PRO adult teams. “They’re very professional and more family oriented than other, bigger series. They deliver fun family atmospheres at every event.”
This event will certainly sell out and like all our National events of the past, we pride ourselves as being the best in the business at seeding and ranking teams in their proper division to match their skill level. With hundreds of family members and friends descending on the Dual Decks to watch their program play inline roller hockey at its highest level, our staff spends hours making sure each team is in the exact division they need to be and this year will be no exception.
As in previous 2Hot4Ice National Games, in addition to the leveled competition from 8U through Adult Over-35, the circuit’s grand finale this year will again include skill competitions, awards for all the division and skills winners, and booths staffed by representatives of inline roller hockey’s top equipment manufacturers. And everywhere you turn there’s sure to be major doses of good old-fashioned southern hospitality, good sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and, most of all, passion for the sport of inline roller hockey.
EXTRA, EXTRA, EXTRA- Special announcement coming that will completely shock the Inline Hockey world! Look for this in the next week or two as it includes some changes so dramatic that I have to make sure we can do it before we announce it. We are going to give back and help each Hockey family the best we can considering the tough economic times, so bear with me just a few more days as I put the finishing touches on this years tournament format, pricing and guarantees. Trust me when I say it will be worth the wait.
