The McBuccaneers tryouts will be August 29th, 12:00pm, Sunday for their 2010 – 2011 PRO PIHA team. Players trying out must wear a collared shirt with tie for the formal picture and our website shot. All players will be required to fill out an RHA insurance form, McBucc’s player info form and sign a liability waiver. Fees per player for tryouts are $35.00, please checks made payable to SC Buccaneers hockey club.
The 2010 – 2011 SC McBuccaneers will play “six” home games in Taylors, SC and six home games in Raleigh, North Carolina. Both the McBuccaneers and their “AA” affiliate Raleigh Dragons will be sharing the Pavilion in Taylors, SC and the Dream Sports Center as their home venues this year.
Another big change in the McBuccaneers origination for this upcoming year is the addition of Howard Baldwin Jr. to the management team. Baldwin Jr., will be working with Bucc’s this year to help them increase attendance and to help promote the game of roller hockey to as many people as he can help fill both the Pavilion in Taylors, SC and Dream Sports, in Raleigh, NC. The team will be using Baldwin’s guidance and advice to help grow the Bucc’s and Dragons, their minor league affiliate (AA) into successes in the community. The big focus will be “Red Ribbon Week” in which the team will hope to speak to children in Myrtle Beach, Greenville and Raleigh this upcoming season.

This new accompanied by that of Herm Sorcher, managing general partner of the Danbury Whalers becoming an owner, has brought new life and blood into the Bucc’s franchise. Sorcher, who will bring his Danbury team to the ice this fall www.thedanburywhalers.com will also be a big part of helping the Buccaneers with promotions and ideas to bring in more fans. “It’s a great chance to work with great people and fellow owners and help an already successful team become stronger in their communities”, Sorcher had to say.
