First let me start off by saying- THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL!! The Dr. Pepper Arena is an enormous facility with all the specs on an NHL rink. When I first got here, I was truly amazed by, not only the rink, but the surrounding areas. The host hotel (The Embassy Suites) is right outside the door of the Arena’s lobby and the Hilton Garden Inn is in the same parking lot. Other team hotels aren’t more than a mile away. The mall across the street is within walking distance and has a rink of its own that we will definitely use if/when we come back here in the future.

The night is close to ending and the AA Frisco Rough Riders (Affiliate for the Texas Rangers of the MLB) just ended their game next to the rink at the Dr Pepper Ballpark. The fireworks every night signals the end of another beautiful night in Frisco.

As for the hockey, the games have been pretty interesting to say the least. It’s been great to come to Texas for Nationals so the teams down here get a taste of National play. Some teams are having a tough time as we have had a few mercies in the early going of the Peewee AAA division. But this is an experience some of these teams haven’t gotten before.

Bantam AAA got off to a fast start as Green Eggs and Ham scored first on Mission Black Ice. Black Ice did take control of the game after that, though as they took the win 5-2.

Midget AAA saw the Tour Bordercats dominate the second period of a game that seemed pretty even at the start. The defeated Tour Excitement 4-1 in a clean hockey game with hardly any penalties. It was just good hockey and the Midget AAA division saw even more of that as FTB defeated Full Throttle. Black Ice and The Bordercats are playing right now. There’s just under five minutes remaining and the young Black Ice 93 team has the lead 3-2 as the Bordercats just pulled within 1.

Junior AAA has seen Texas team Soo Woo Nation struggle early. Mercied by Black Ice to start and then losing to FTB 4-3 in a close one just a few minutes ago. Tour Excitement defeated La-Tex Snipers 7-1 in a fast, tey competitive game. That division will be a good one to watch as we get closer to the playoffs.

In the midst of all this, Adult Bronze is underway as well, as Pounders and Rejects have won their first games.

The night is now over and Pointstreak has been updated and teams are on a roll.
