I’d like to start by saying what a “GREAT” start to the day.
The Mite Platinum/Gold division kick started the morning with some close calls. The 949 Anarchy (CA) beat the Sidewinders (Africa) 2-1, the Colorado Kodiaks jumped out at the end against the St. Louis Tour Blast 6-3, the Tour Scorpions (FL) nipped the Reebok 2000′s 3-2 and Mission Coast 2 Coast (MO) bested the Bordercats 6-5. They are now seeded so more exciting action is sure to come in both playoff brackets tonight.
Speaking of playoffs its been awesome to watch so many close games over the past two days. Sunday alone had over 20 playoff games and about 40% went to overtime. Aside from OT, we had another 2 or 3 that were one goal games, some had empty netters.
More close games were seen in our Championship games today. The Marple Gladiators brought another NARCh title home to the Marple Sports Arena. A thrilling last second goal took down a tough San Diego Rocket team 3-2 in the Atom Silver final. The Reebok 99′s (MI) played very good Puckhogs team from California. Going into overtime both squads were tired. Each team took some short shifts as everyone was getting breaks end to end. Both goalies played great, but only one winner was crowned. The Reebok 99′s took it 3-2 in the OT. Its great seeing a cup go to another country too. The Katios hockey club from Columbia beat the SCP Hammertime 6-0 to claim the Squirt Club final.
3 more championship games to go – Squirt and Bantam Gold divisions are rolling…
