Kevin, just saw your question now, sorry for the delay in response. You should take additional vitamin D because most multi's simply don't have enough in them. If you live in the north you should also increase your vit. D supplementation. The lack of sun light can drop your levels big time, and a lack of Vitamin D can affect 100's of thing in your body, including performance in sport.

If you have additional questions email me at dustin@rouxstrength.com

Thanks for posting. I'm having a blast with these videos. I enjoy shooting the footage, writing the scripts/recaps, and even picking the music. I'm not at every event, so at some tourneys it's my staff doing the shooting, and in some cases the recaps.

Unfortunately I can't edit, so sometimes things don't jive exactly how I envision it, but overall I think they're coming out well.

Hopefully people at the events appreciate them. They take a lot of time, but they give people from around the country a "feel" for the other events and other rinks they've never been to. They also give credit to the teams that did well at each event.

Hey Dustin-

Im a 43 yr old who is finally getting started playing hockey. I am in my 2nd season in roller hockey and I love every second of it.

I have recently taught myself to skate backwards and to make the fwd/bkwd/fwd transitions and plan on trying my new 'skill' tonite during the game.'

My question is this... I have done P90X (to build some strength) and I am now doing the Insanity program in an effort to gain some cardio endurance.

I dont have much access to a rink except on game days, nor do we have organized practices... so I'm doing all of this on my own.

Aside from your suggestions on conditioning above, could you please, suggest some more things I could do in order to increase my stamina? Maybe the proper foods to eat on game day, or how to conserve energy on the floor?

If you have any suggestions for learning backward crossovers, that would be great too.

I love your site here and come here quite often.

Thanks for your time and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Matt K.
