Today, we begin both squirt and bantam platinum. These divisions should be as exciting as the games we witnessed in midget and D-1 yesterday.
You have to give credit to Sean Riley and Dave Reskey with the Mission Habs. The team roster reads like an all star team, Travis Fudge, Sean Sullivan, Shawn Gawyrs Raf Rodriguez and Tommy Tartiaglione from the IIHF Gold medal Team USA. The Habs are looking outstanding so far, but as we know, once we begin the playoffs, it starts all over again. Time to work on the systems and get everyone on board with the style of game you’re going to play in D – 1.
The Buffalo Wings under Eric Haak have Tyler Walser, Cory Conacher and Chris Terry. The Pama Cyclones come in loaded with Itan Chavira, Tim Kraus, Chris Orlowsky and Vincent Catalino and don’t forget IIHF gold medal champion Gerry Osterkamp is on their bench leading the way. We reviewed the AKS Empire’s roster yesterday, but most notable are George Barber, Alex and Loren Barron, Joey Marciano, Lucas Romero and Nate Sigmund. Rob Sudduth backs AKS up in net. The Reebok Eschelon JR. Ducks come in with Fran Bertagni, Taylor Kane, fomer WHL and Ontario Reign player CJ Stretch and Detroit Red Wing third round pick, Max NiCastro.
The team with the deepest bench and most depth is the Mission Labeda Snipers. John McGuiness, P.J. Kavaya, Jon Mosenson, Pat Maroon and Andy Cripps lead this roster that is full at 15 players. The Mississauga Rattlers have brought in some California talent with players such as Jordan Thomas, JT Osborn and Parker Conant. We also welcome Team MKS From Colombia and are competing in their first D – 1 division.
Midget platinum will wind down today with each team playing two more round robin games. Great game last night between the Colorado Kodiaks and the Tour Excitement Green. The Kodiaks had killed off two consecutive penalties to maintain their 2 – 1 lead. With less than two minutes to play, they were called for another infraction, which they worked their tails off to kill, however, with the Excitement pulling their goalie and making it a two man advantage, A back door pass slipped over to Tyler Dettrick who buried it and tied the game 2 – 2. If you were there, you had to feel for the Kodiaks, but you also know that Dave Fromm always saves the best for playoffs and he uses games like this as a motivational tool for his teams to grow with….
