Alexandria, VA– Major League Roller Hockey (MLRH) announced today that Denis Jelcic, one of roller hockey’s premier coaches and rink owners, has joined the league as Director of East Coast Development.
Jelcic, a long-time coach of the New Jersey Grizzlies, recently announced that his team was committing to MLRH and it’s full-contact brand of roller hockey. “I have watched with great interest, the strides MLRH has taken in developing their brand, their link with Roller Hockey TV and their overall commitment to excellence in our sport” said Jelcic. “I look forward to challenging the elite MLRH teams with the Grizzlies organization as well as helping the league expand it’s roster of teams.”
As a coach, Jelcic has won five national championships, numerous regional championships along with PIHA and AIHL Division and Conference championships. Jelcic has also coached state teams and served as the New Jersey Director for State Wars Hockey.
In making the announcement, MLRH President and Founder Bill Raue said, “We are delighted to have Dennis as part of our staff. He has a huge commitment to the sport and is so well liked in the hockey community. He has the respect of everyone in the industry and we look forward to a lasting relationship.”
MLRH Commissioner Doug Jones was equally enthused about Jelcic becoming part of the MLRH staff. “Dennis and I go back a long way and it great to be working together again.”
Jelcic, who has roller hockey experience dating to 1997, has owned and operated the Inline Skating Cub of America (ISCA), home of the Grizzlies, in Wallington, NJ since 1999 and owned the rink since 2006.
MLRH opens it’s season on the west coast on October 29 with the Grizzlies hosting the East Coast opening event on November 5. Both events will be carried live on www.rollerhockeytv.net
