There will be some special guests this year at ECHO Nationals June 16-22, 2011 in Pittsburgh, PA at Blade Runners. I used to coach a little boy named Tyler Paryz at The Dream Sports Center in Apex, NC. His younger brother Josh, who is 6 years old came down with Leukemia in April, 2010. Josh has undergone numerous chemo treatments since then but is handling everything the way we think a hero would handle it. I don’t have enough time and space in this article to explain what he and his family have gone through. Josh and his family are very strong and brave people. Oh by the way, the Paryz family are also big Pittsburgh Penguin fans.
This year ECHO/Coastal Cup are going to donate $1 for every team that plays in a ECHO/Coastal Cup Tournament and put it towards flying Josh and his family to Pittsburgh, PA for ECHO Nationals and having them as our guests for the tournament. At every ECHO tournament in 2010-2011 ECHO will take additional donations for the Paryz family. Bob Boucher will be the contact person. John Roux, the rink manager at Blade Runners is working on some other special guests to meet and greet Josh from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
We will eventually provide some pictures of Josh so you can put the name and face together.
Sincerely, Bob Boucher
