The Carolina Amateur Hockey Association joined with OneGoal, USA Hockey, Carolina Hurricanes and Charlotte Checkers to create an opportunity on March 13, 2010, for families to come to a local rink and Try Hockey for Free!

This free trial has been created specifically for children ages 4-9 years old who are interested in trying hockey for the first time. While we encourage those who have access to a set of equipment to bring it, equipment is not necessary to participate. For those who don’t have equipment, we ask for you to bring the following: Helmet, any type of gloves (not necessarily hockey), parent, skates (if possible, rink could have rentals), and a smile.

Please click below to find out if a hockey day is coming near you, and let your local rink know so they can participate in the Try Hockey For Free Day!

RINK NEWS

First Indoor Inline Rink Set to Open on the Island of Oahu, HI!

USA Hockey would like to welcome a brand new rink to the family! Hawaii never thought they would see the day, but a brand new state of the art indoor roller hockey facility is close to completion. Before this facility Hawaii has had only outdoor facilities where players brave all conditions so they can play the sport they love. Richard Pentecost has headed this project when he saw the competition on the mainland and wanted to give the inline players of Hawaii a facility so they could compete with the mainland teams.

The facility is air conditioned, will have two inline rinks, lockers, bathrooms, snack shop, and a pro shop. In addition, the building is green as it uses solar panels for power. The rink is going to be home for leagues, tournaments, clinics, and much more.

Check out www.kihahawaii.com to get more information on the rink and to see the beautiful facility for yourself. Here is a recent article on the facility: Inline Hockey Coming to Kapolei
