December 3rd at Total Hockey in Novi, MI will be the Easts season opener while play on the West Coast returns on the 10th to The Rinks in Irvine, CA. After these two events will the question of who will challenge the Axiom be answered? These two big events should go along way in establishing which teams are going to challenge the currently undefeated Mission Axiom of MLRH West. Will there be a beast of the east capable of challenging the Axiom in the championship series this upcoming March?

This upcoming weekend in Novi at the Total Sports Complex will have the Chicago Carnage, Motor City Assualt, New York Rockers, and Buffalo Excitement meeting up in the first of two MLRH Holiday Shootouts featuring competitive fill-contact roller hockey. This event like always will be family oriented, including the annual MLRH “Beat Santa” with kids will have the opportunity to shoot on a live Santa goalie to win prizes!

Action on the West Coast heats up the following weekend as the Anaheim Bullfrogs honor Rob Laurie, the Frogs legendary goaltender by retiring his jersey. Of special interest to the West Coast fans is the resurgence of the Arizona Arsenal and the ongoing riddle of which Bullfrogs team will show up? With the addition of coach Jay Russel manning the bench the Frogs showed skill and discipline in hanging with the Axiom before eventually falling 5-2 after giving up three late goals. Unfortunately for the Frogs, they found a way to lose to Arizona in a game they needed to win. The good news is that, no matter who wins, Santa will be there in goalie gear taking the kid’s best shot.
