Return of Anaheim Bullfrogs is the Hot Story With LA Press
LA Daily News and LA Daily Breeze cover Anaheim Bullfrogs tryouts.
The return of the Anaheim Bullfrogs has created a media buzz and new excitement for Major League Roller Hockey, the Anaheim Bullfrogs and a sport badly in need of mainstream media coverage.
“This is great stuff,” said Bill Raue, Major League Roller Hockey (MLRH) founder and President. “Quite simply, over the years, MLRH has received more media coverage than all of the roller hockey leagues and tournament series combined. The fact that the LA Daily News and the LA Daily Breeze have found the return of the Anaheim Bullfrogs newsworthy speaks volumes about the MLRH brand and it’s ability to attract major media coverage. For the record, this was notcoverage about a game, these articles were simply about tryouts. If they can get this excited about pre-season, you know we are going to get serious coverage of the games,” Raue added.
League officials are particularly excited about the media attention as it is an unexpected plus for all MLRH teams. “This opens the doors for sponsorship dollars and advertising money for all of our teams as it allows them to demonstrate to potential sponsors that MLRH is the real deal,” said MLRH Commissioner Doug Jones. “The increased media attention, plus roller hockey TV coverage with teams attracting as many as 12,000 viewers for a single game and a European Division that will attract additional viewers is just great for the sport and the roller hockey industry. Owning an MLRH franchise is now a great deal for team owners as MLRH team ownership, unlike in other leagues, is a serious investment with a potential for growth.”
