MLRH Season Opening Games and Festivities Set for October 8th
A star-studded evening featuring roller hockey greats, past and present awaits fans at the 949 Roller Hockey Center when Major League Roller Hockey opens the 2011-12 season Saturday evening, October 8 in Irvine, CA.
The evening will feature two highly anticipated games, the retiring of Bullfrog’s legend Joe Cook’s number 47, the Roller Hockey Hall of Fame’s memorabilia collection plus world-wide coverage of the evening on RollerHockeyTV.net. Award winning CBS and NHL announcer Chris Madsen will provide the play-by-play coverage with color commentary from MLRH Commissioner Doug Jones with special guest Joe Cook.
The “New” Anaheim Bullfrogs will open the MLRH season when they take on the defending Champions, Mission Axiom followed by the LA Pama Cyclones hosting the Arizona Arsenal Most of the Pacific Division teams will see action with games starting at 3:00 PM Pacific time. The “Prime time” schedule will begin at 6:00 PM, allowing eastern viewers the opportunity to see these highly regarded teams at 9:00 PM EST.
Bob Elder to Emcee Joe Cook Evening
Bob Elder, the Bullfrog GO Emeritus, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Elder is a legend for his uncanny ability to recruit the talent that brought the Bullfrog World Championships. Stuart Silver, the former Frogs owner will also be in attendance as will many of Cook’s teammates from their glory years.
