The New Jersey Grizzlies are ready for the 2010-2011 season says General Manager Denis Jelcic. “We have been preparing for months and can’t wait to get another crack at it” says Jelcic. With the Grizzlies, its really simple, once you’re on the team, there is no reason you would not be asked to return. “It is pretty simple, if you like playing hockey, and you enjoy it, then why would anyone ask you to leave?? We have a philosophy that once you make a team and build on it, eventually, it will be a champion”
The NJ Grizzlies have players in some cases that have played together for years and have a central part of their team. “If you ask me, its pretty simple, find players that like playing together, even if they aren’t as skilled as other teams, and they will give you more effort and determination than the all-stars you pick up from other teams” adds Jelcic. If you think about, Jelcic has a point, his team knocked off the Eastern Conference Regular Season Champion Sting last season in a hard fought five game series at Long Island and look to continue their success this season. “That might have been the best series I have seen in a while, and not because we won, but because their organization (Sting) is one of the best run organizations in this league, and to be in that series with them was amazing.” Jelcic goes on to say. But, after a trip to Colorado last season, the Grizzlies find themselves in a spot they are not used to, they are the hunted and we are sure the Sting will remember that loss and look for revenge this season. “Like I said, we went last season, and we want to be there again, this time, with a victory.”
Adding excitement to the league, the Grizzlies along with the Sting and Typhoon have decided to formulate an outdoor roller hockey series or games for opening day in North Jersey. Details are coming shortly, so look out, it will be outdoor hockey played puck indoor style this coming season!
