The Tour Arena staff and several players, personnel, and supporters of the Thunder will come together to help install a brand new floor at the Colorado Springs Thunder home this coming weekend. Starting Friday afternoon the Arena will be getting a makeover as new lights over the skating floor will be a huge change for the SIHA tournament this weekend. Then the existing Sportcourt floor will be ripped up and packed away to be replaced with a brand new Icecourt flooring system Sunday night.
“With new lighting and a brand new, white floor the facility will be brighter than ever. No way Yoder can use the excuse, “I couldn’t see it” when he’s trying to keep pucks out of the net while strapping on the pads,” said Arena manager, Bill Mulhern. “We are very excited about the upcoming RC Nationals event and what people think of the new additions.”
This week will be a hectic one but will all be worth it as teams from across the country travel to Colorado Springs for RC Nationals and a chance to hang their team’s banner in the Tour Arena rafters. “All of these teams and players know they are coming to the premier facility in the country and there will be some very surprised faces when they realize the Arena is even better!” says Mulhern.
