The Potomac Mavericks will return for another year of elite inline hockey in the American Inline Hockey League. The 2010-2011 season was a complete success for the AIHL Mavs both on and off the rink. The Elites and Minors had strong regular seasons, made the playoffs, and both improved as the year went on. Looking to build off of that this year, and upgrade on both rosters, tryouts have been set.

Tryouts are:

8/31/2011 – 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm
9/10/2011 – 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

Followed by 2 mini camp sessions:
9/17/2011 – 3:00pm – 5:00 pm
9/19/2011 – 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Cost is $35.00 for any players who have ever played for the Mavericks at the AIHL or PIHA level. This can be any players from the last 4 years.

Cost is $50.00 for any new skaters to the organization and team.

The Mavericks will be selecting an Elite, Minor, and possibly a Development team depending on interest, and player turnout.

The Development team will be for skilled minor players who are looking to get better, and play this year with the team, and younger players who are looking to join the mavericks and play in years to come.

The teams will have 24 games, 12 practices, and a 2 mini camp sessions. On average your looking at 1 hour a week over the course of the season. Your also looking at one road trip every 6 to 8 weeks, with the longest distant likely being New Jersey, or Pittsburgh.

Every player has a fair chance as no roster spots are set in stone. Come out, and have a great tryout, and join one of the 3 teams.
