Colorado Springs, CO – The Colorado Springs Thunder announced today they will begin their road for a Founders Cup three-peat with their annual free agent camp in August. Thursday, August 19 from 7:30-10:30pm and Sunday, August 22 from 3-6pm have been set aside for the organization to choose who will be a part of the team’s sixth season. Tryouts will be held at the Thunder’s home facility, Tour Arena.
“There will be an obvious piece of our team missing when we start in August but we wish ‘Yings’ well and we are looking for some new, very capable talent to step up. This organization expects nothing less than a run at the Founders Cup each and every year. This year is no exception,” said GM/Head Coach, Dave Needham. The Thunder has plans again for 2 minor teams and the pro squad for 2010-2011.
Masters and Women are also on the agenda for the season. “All of these teams and players are a key part of what we do here in Colorado Springs. Players from every aspect from the pros to the women have been a huge part of the Thunder building a great relationship within the Colorado Springs community and we intend for that relationship to grow this coming season,” says newly appointed Public Relations Director Teresa Miller.
With the tryout announcement came the dates for the Thunder’s second annual Gold/Grey Series. The series will be held on Friday, September 3rd at 7pm. Again the Thunder will showcase their rosters for the first time at Tour Arena during this charity event. More information or the Gold/Grey Series will be coming shortly.
Players are encouraged to come to both tryouts but do not have to. Tryout cost will be $60. For more information please email email@example.com or check out the Thunder webpage, www.costhunder.com.
