The Season is Right Around the Corner!

Wow, it is October and NCRHA teams are ready for action!

Last weekend (September 25-26) the RMCRHA hosted their annual pre-season event.  After 2 full days of play, School of Mines took the Varsity title by defeating Colorado State 5-2, while Metro State Denver B Red defeated Northern Colorado B Blue for the Junior Varsity title 4-3.  Kansas State University once again made the trip out to Colorado, and played some very tight games with a 7-4 loss to the eventual champion School of Mines and a 7-5 loss to Northern Colorado.

This weekend (October 2-3), the SECRHL opens their season at the SGAA Dual Deck Hockey Arena in Snellville, GA.  Newcomers Bethel and Florida Gulf Coast will play in their first inter-collegiate roller hockey event.  The rest of the games will be very competitive as well, with Tampa, George Mason and Kennesaw playing each other as well as North Carolina State and Central Florida.  The SECRHL is up from 3 to 5 B teams this season as well.

The ECRHA Columbus Day Kickoff takes place on October 8th and 9th at the Sportsplex in Featerville, PA.  These pre-season matches will prove to be very interesting, especially the following matchups:  Rhode Island vs. West Chester, Buffalo vs. Neumann, Brockport vs. West Point.  The ECRHA will then get the regular season rolling on the following weekend, October 15th-16th.  See the ECRHA’s article regarding the event on their homepage for more information:

RMCRHA begins their regular season on October 16th; GPCIHL begins on October 22; WCRHL and MCRHL begin on October 23.
