Thunder Back Out Within the Community

Published on July 21, 2010 with No Comments

The Colorado Springs Thunder is always looking for ways to support the community and help people in need. Sam’s Club in north Colorado Springs has again given the organization that opportunity. “Thanks to Brian Smith and one of the Thunder’s fan favorites, Bryan Higney, the Thunder have been given this great opportunity to help fight Breast Cancer. We hope to keep building this relationship with  Sam’s Club and raise some money for Susan G Komen For The Cure this Saturday,” says General Manager, Dave Needham.

The Thunder players will be with the PIHA’s Founders Cup taking pictures and signing autographs while trying to raise money for the fight against Breast Cancer. Thunder mascot Thor, and several other pro players will make an appearance at the Thunder station. An opportunity to beat a Thunder goaltender will be the highlight of the day with Thunder stickers and goodies also being handed out during the great event.

Be sure and get to Sam’s Club at the corner of Woodmen and Academy for some fun in the sun for a great cause. Stop into Sam’s Club and get what the family needs for the weekend from 11am – 2pm and then hang out with some of the best roller hockey players in the country, your Colorado Springs Thunder!

“I would like to sincerely thank Sam’s Club and Susan G Komen For The Cure for letting our Thunder be a part of this great event,” comments team President, CJ Yoder.
