Twenty-one seconds before the end of the first quater, Domen Vedlin luckily scored from rebound and Slovenia was happy to take the lead after 12 minutes. But in the game of great goaltending, the USA answered twice at the beginning of the second period. “I made a couple of good saves early, that helped us a lot,” said Team USA goalkeeper Tommy Tartaglione.

The productive first line managed to score two goals within one minute. Jose Cadiz tied the game and Anthony Minor gave the USA the lead. And another member of the elite line, Kyle Kraemer hit the post.

If the first period ended up well for Slovenia, the second horn was delightful for the USA. Ten seconds before the end Jose Cadiz scored his second of the game.

Two goals in one game of Domen Vedlin didn´t help Slovenia to get points. Although they got faster after scoring it. Unfortunately for them, substitute Nathan Sigmund answered three minutes later. “We made some mistakes today and scored just two goals. We had a lot of power plays, but could not score. That is hockey,” said Team Slovenia´s captain Vedlin.

Slovenian post was hit once more in the last quater but none of the players managed to aim in between the post.

With one minute left, Slovenia took time out and pulled the goalie out of the crease, but it wasn´t enough losing to the USA 2-4.
