Although it was Germany who had the first scoring chance, the USA didn´t give them a lot of space to surprise. Joseph Doran and Kyle Kraemer scored within one minute, Itan Chavira added the third two minutes later.

After Chavira´s goal at 8:05 Jochen Vollmer was pulled out of the crease and substitute Thomas Owner had to force the Americans.

Just like Vollmer, Owner had three goals scored against him in one period. He stopped Tyler Walster´s first chance, but the American scored from rebound. A little bit funny goal of Shawn Garvis. It looked like nobody could have get the puck in the net. But the third man shooting from

the same place was successfull. Jose Cadiz jr. closed the period with a really nice move and sixth goal.
The intermission helped Germans to take a breath and find a way to overcome Tartaglione. Boris Blank scored the lone one. They only cheered for ten seconds though. Itan Chavira responded early.

Americans were still hungry for more goals and even Tyler Walser – the tenth goal scorer, wasn´t the last to celebrate. Kyle Kraemer and Itan Chavira both completed hattrick and added one more; and on of the top seeded teams finally went satisfied when scoring sixteen.
